The Facebook groups run into hundreds of thousands of members. The Telegram channels trade agency news faster than the agencies announce it. Entire YouTube channels exist in Bahasa Indonesia teaching keywording, upload strategy and earnings math.
That community solved distribution of knowledge a long time ago. What it still spends thousands of collective hours on every week is the same thing every contributor everywhere spends them on: typing titles, descriptions and keywords into forms, one agency at a time.

What is actually different about contributing from Indonesia
Most advice written for stock contributors quietly assumes a US or Western European bank account. Two things work differently for someone uploading from Jakarta, Bandung or Yogyakarta, and both cost real money if nobody tells you first.
Getting paid: Payoneer is not optional on Adobe Stock
Adobe's published payment requirements list PayPal as available globally and Skrill as available in most countries, but they name Indonesia explicitly as one of a short list of countries where Payoneer is the required payment provider, alongside South Africa, South Korea and Turkey. If you set up a payout method assuming PayPal is the default here, that is exactly where the process stalls. Adobe also holds payouts until the balance reaches US $25, and you can request another payout each time you cross that threshold again.
Shutterstock accepts PayPal, Skrill or Payoneer, but supports none of the things a contributor might reasonably reach for first: no wire transfer, no direct bank transfer, no cheques. Payments through those providers are generally issued between the 7th and 15th of the month. The practical consequence is that a Payoneer account solves both platforms at once, which is why experienced Indonesian contributors tend to open one before their first payout rather than after.
US withholding tax: the difference between 30% and 15%
Agencies based in the United States withhold tax on royalties paid to non-US contributors. The default rate for someone who has not filed the paperwork is 30%. Indonesia and the United States have a tax treaty, and its royalties article caps the rate on copyright royalties, which is the category stock licensing falls into, at 15% of the gross amount. The mechanism for claiming it is a completed Form W-8BEN in each agency's contributor portal, declaring Indonesian tax residency and claiming treaty benefits.
In plain terms: the same portfolio earning the same downloads keeps a meaningfully different share of the money depending on whether one form was filled in correctly. This is general information rather than tax advice, and an Indonesian tax professional is the right person to confirm your own situation, but every contributor should at minimum check which rate their agency dashboards are currently applying.
The metadata is in English, the photographer is not
Every major agency runs its search in English. The buyer typing into the search box is usually working in English. So a contributor in Indonesia is asked to do something a contributor in London is not: produce commercially precise English titles, descriptions and 25 to 50 ordered keywords for every file, in a second or third language, at volume, forever.
This is a tax on income that has nothing to do with photographic ability. Two contributors can shoot the same subject to the same standard, and the one whose working language is English will out-earn the other simply because their keywords match how buyers search. It is the single most under-discussed reason strong portfolios underperform outside English-speaking markets.
